Course Description for "Fishies" Tutorial - Part 1 & 2
Part 1 - Setting the Scene: Welcome to "Fishies," a tutorial lovingly named after my grandson's delight in the pet shop's goldfish. In Part 1, we focus on:
- Crafting a simple, colourful backdrop for our fish with a loose and expressive watercolour wash.
- Engaging in wet-on-wet work to lay down the initial layers.
- Simplifying our reference photo to capture the essence without getting bogged down in detail.
Part 2 - Bringing the Fishies to Life: Part 2 of "Fishies" dives into:
- Mixing the perfect grey using French Ultramarine and Transparent Sienna, with a heavier lean on the Ultramarine to keep the grey from becoming too brown.
- Progressing from the foundational work to add depth and character to our goldfish, making them appear as if they're gazing out at us.
This two-part tutorial is a celebration of fun, creativity, and the simple joys that inspire art.
