Welcome to the Chicken, or as we affectionately say in Australia, 'Chook' tutorial. This class is a homage to the familiar backyard birds, inspired by my own experiences with our family's chooks.

In This Tutorial:

  • Learn to capture the essence of a chicken using mainly transparent and semi-transparent pigments.
  • Focus on applying a single wash of colour to the body, enhancing the natural glow and light.
  • Prepare for a future rooster painting to create a matching set.

Louise De Masi is a professional artist and qualified teacher with over 23 years experience. She is based in the gorgeous Mid North Coast of NSW, Australia.

Louise has been passionate about watercolours since 2011. She has sold paintings worldwide, licensed her work, and even co-written a book about painting sea life in watercolour.
